On May 8, 2025, the cargo ship 'Hyundai Masan' experienced an allision while attempting to dock at Georgetown, marking a significant moment during its delivery of wind turbine components to the Eastern Kings wind farm. During the berthing process, the vessel struck the dock, resulting in a minor breach in its hull. Despite the incident, operations at the port were not significantly disrupted, and the schedule for PEI Energy Corporation's wind farm project remained on track. The 'Hyundai Masan' was docked for approximately six days to facilitate necessary repairs, with the damage being promptly attended to.
