The ships, identified as 'Propus', 'Iasos', 'Gloria G', and 'Manassa Queen', navigated from the ports of Odesa, while additional vessels including the tanker 'Mavka', bulk carrier 'Golden Arrow', and cargo ship 'Maranta' were en route to Ukrainian ports during this time. Concerns regarding maritime safety had arisen on October 26, when reports from Kiev-based consultancy Barva Invest, British security firm Ambrey, and Ukrainian Ports indicated a suspension of corridor use due to potential threats from Russian aircraft and naval mines.
