On the morning of September 13, 2022, the Paxos Port Authority received a critical update from the captain of the ferry 'Ilida II.' During routine engine warm-up procedures for its planned journey from Gaio Paxos to Corfu, the vessel experienced a significant failure of its starboard main engine. As a precautionary measure, the Port Authority halted the ferry's departure until the vessel could present a valid class maintenance certificate from the relevant classification society. In the interim, the 80 passengers on board were safely transferred to an alternative ship to continue their journey.

On July 28, 2022, the Port Authority of Corfu received a distress notification from the captain of the 'Ilida II' regarding a mechanical failure affecting the starboard main engine. The incident occurred while the vessel was navigating eight nautical miles southeast of Corfu, en route to Gaiou in the Paxos region and carrying five passengers. Fortunately, the hydrofoil managed to return to Corfu's port under its own power, aided by a nearby patrol vessel. In response to the situation, the Central Port Authority of Corfu promptly issued a ban on the ferry's operations until necessary repairs were completed and the vessel presented a certificate of class maintenance and seaworthiness from the supervising classification society. Meanwhile, the affected passengers were assisted by the ferry company to ensure they reached their intended destination safely.
