Working Conditions Aboard the Ionian-Express

On the morning of November 13, 2016, a maritime incident occurred off the coast of Hakodate involving the ferry 'Asakaze No. 5' and the tanker 'Taiko Maru'. The ferry, which operates on the Aomori to Hakodate route, was in the process of departing for Aomori when the collision took place. At the time, there were approximately 30 passengers on board. Reports indicate that the 'Taiko Maru' made contact with the starboard side of the ferry using its bow. Fortunately, both vessels sustained only minor damages, allowing the 'Asakaze No. 5' to continue its operations without major disruptions.
