In a recent health development, a crew replacement for the bulk carrier 'Berge Bandai' faced significant changes in San Antonio. In light of a confirmed COVID-19 case, one crew member, a Filipino merchant seaman who had recently arrived through the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport in Pudahuel, was discovered to be infected. Consequently, the entire replacement crew was moved to a designated health residence located in the Viña del Mar commune for precautionary measures. Authorities from the Regional Ministerial Secretariat (Seremi) of Health in the Valparaíso Region have not disclosed the exact number of individuals deemed close contacts of the affected crew member. Furthermore, there has been no announcement regarding the duration of their required stay at the health facility. Fortunately, all crew members who came into contact with the individual have reported no symptoms thus far. The 'Berge Bandai' was docked at the DP World terminal from the morning of November 9 until late on November 10, during which time it conducted operations for unloading its bulk cargo.
