The Isefjord: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

The waters of Denmark welcomed a new vessel with the arrival of the Isefjord ferry, transported by the renowned Rickmers-Linie on their multipurpose heavy lift vessel, Baltic Winter. This noteworthy delivery marks a milestone as it is the first ferry constructed by a shipyard in Bangladesh for European clientele. Operated by Hundested-Rørvig Færgefart AS, the Isefjord ferry is set to serve across the scenic Isefjord, after which it is named. With dimensions of 49.80 meters in length and 11.20 meters in breadth, this ferry boasts an impressive capacity to carry 28 vehicles and accommodate 147 passengers. Powered by two robust main engines, each providing 500 horsepower, the ferry can cruise at an efficient speed of approximately 11 knots, weighing in at a total of 470 tonnes. The Isefjord ferry was crafted by Western Marine Shipyard Ltd. in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Following its delivery to its new owners in February, the ferry was meticulously loaded onto the Baltic Winter in early March, utilizing the ship's formidable two 400-tonne cranes. After a six-week journey across the seas, the ferry's arrival on Sunday, April 14, was celebrated at Hundested roads with a direct discharge into the beautiful waters of the Kattegat, marking the beginning of its new voyage in Denmark.
