Shell Secures Approval for Island Constructor Operations at Draugen Field
Norske Shell has officially been granted permission to deploy the ISLAND CONSTRUCTOR for the initiation of well 6407/9-G-5 within the Draugen oil field. This operation is slated to commence in August or September 2017. Situated in the Norwegian Sea at a depth of 250 meters, the Draugen field features a robust fixed concrete structure complete with an integrated deck, where stabilized oil is stored in tanks located at the facility's base. The ISLAND CONSTRUCTOR, known for its well intervention capabilities, is managed by Island Offshore Management AS and earned its Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in September 2010.
