The vessel will commence its new charter today, embarking on a 13 to 15-month contract with Koch Shipping, based in Singapore. Under this agreement, Ismene will earn a daily rate of $12,125, which shows a slight increase from the previous rate of $12,000 per day that was paid by DHL Project and Chartering. Despite a gradual recovery in the dry bulk market, the new rate reflects only a modest uptick. Diana Shipping anticipates that this new charter will generate approximately $4.6 million in gross revenue based on the minimum duration of the contract.

Diana Shipping Inc., a prominent player in the global shipping arena focused on dry bulk vessel ownership, has made a significant move by signing a time charter agreement with DHL Project & Chartering Limited based in Hong Kong. This contract involves one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Ismene. The deal stipulates a gross charter rate of $12,000 per day, excluding a 5% commission to third parties, with a minimum duration of twelve months and a potential extension up to fifteen months. The charter is set to kick off on September 16, 2017. Currently, the m/v Ismene is under a separate charter agreement with Glencore Grain B.V. in Rotterdam, generating a gross rate of $5,850 per day, also minus a 5% commission to third parties. Notably, the m/v Ismene is a 77,901 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel that was constructed in 2013.

The contract, set at a daily rate of $6,350, is scheduled for a duration of 5 to 8 months.
