Diana Shipping Secures Charter for Panamax Bulker Ismene
Greek shipping company Diana Shipping has announced a new charter agreement for its panamax bulker, Ismene, which was built in 2013. The vessel will commence its new charter today, embarking on a 13 to 15-month contract with Koch Shipping, based in Singapore. Under this agreement, Ismene will earn a daily rate of $12,125, which shows a slight increase from the previous rate of $12,000 per day that was paid by DHL Project and Chartering. Despite a gradual recovery in the dry bulk market, the new rate reflects only a modest uptick. Diana Shipping anticipates that this new charter will generate approximately $4.6 million in gross revenue based on the minimum duration of the contract.
