At the time of the collision, the ferry was making its way from Tarempa in the Riau Archipelago to Bintan Pura on Bintan Island, carrying a total of 153 passengers. The collision resulted in significant damage to the ferry, with several passengers and crew members sustaining injuries. One unfortunate passenger was ejected into the water but was successfully rescued. The 'Pacific Crown' managed to safely navigate to Singapore and was not held responsible for the incident.
