Following the intensive work, the vessel made its journey to Vagur, arriving on April 19 at 9:30 PM.

The MV Nyborg is currently undergoing repair operations at Mest Shipyard, situated in the picturesque Skali, Faroe Islands. Shipyard officials anticipate that the vessel will return to operational status either by late March or at the very start of April, marking a timely comeback for the vessel.

On January 12, 2018, the fishing vessel 'Nyborg' encountered a massive wave while navigating EU waters between the Faroe Islands and Shetland Islands, specifically while targeting mackerel. The powerful wave shattered two large windows on the wheelhouse, leading to water flooding the bridge and crew accommodations below. The mate on watch, who was near the windows at the time, was injured by the glass and suffered a broken arm along with other injuries. Promptly, the engineer on duty cut power to the bridge, but unfortunately, the flooding caused significant damage to most electronic systems onboard. Although the main engines also shut down, the resilient crew was able to restart them shortly after the incident. Nearby fishing vessels 'Eysturbúgvin' and 'Westbúgvin' were alerted via VHF communication, leading to the dispatch of a helicopter to the scene. The injured mate was swiftly medevaced to the hospital in Torshavn. Despite the bridge’s considerable damage, the crew skillfully managed to steer the 'Nyborg' towards safety. The 'Eyjafjörgvin' and 'Westbúgvin' provided assistance until inspection vessels 'Brimil' and 'Vædderen' took over the situation. The 'Nyborg' safely reached the port of Runavík, where repairs commenced to address the damage sustained during the incident.
