Cargo Ship Kasma Runs Aground in Volga-Caspian Sea Canal
On June 7, 2018, at approximately 12:20 PM, the cargo vessel "Kasma" encountered difficulties, running aground at kilometer mark 105 on the Volga-Caspian Sea Canal. The ship was en route from Astrakhan to Amirabad and was heading towards the Caspian Sea when the incident occurred. After several hours of efforts, the Kasma successfully refloated itself at around 11:10 PM the same day and anchored near the site of the grounding. Following inspections and ensuring safety protocols were met, the vessel resumed its voyage in the early hours of June 8, continuing its journey across the waters.
