The Kato: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On October 18, 2017, the Norwegian Coast Guard stationed in Sortland stepped into action to assist the fishing vessel "Kato," which faced technical difficulties near the Tjeld Sound Bridge in Harstad. The rescue operation featured the vessel "Svalbard," which dispatched a Man Overboard (MOB) boat to facilitate the response. The MOB boat was able to promptly tow the incapacitated "Kato" back to safety. By 10:30 p.m., both the "Kato" and the MOB boat, along with the "Svalbard," successfully navigated to the north side of the bridge, making their way back to Harstad.
