Swedish Coast Guard Donates Environmental Protection Vessels to Ukraine

The Swedish Coast Guard is actively enhancing its support for Ukraine's maritime security as it continues to identify and prepare essential equipment for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. In an initial collaboration, two decommissioned environmental protection vessels, 'KBV 047' and 'KBV 048', along with various vehicles, are being donated to bolster civil maritime security efforts. Earlier in 2024, the Swedish Coast Guard had already contributed jet skis to assist in this initiative. Looking ahead, there is potential for additional equipment donations in the future. Furthermore, the Swedish government, in its supplementary budget passed on January 30, 2025, has allocated an extra 24 million to the Coast Guard, reinforcing their commitment to strengthen cooperation with Ukraine on civil protection and enhancing national resilience.
