Cargo Ship Emsrunner Engulfed in Flames at Stockholm's North Harbour
A significant blaze erupted aboard the cargo vessel Emsrunner on December 3, 2016, at approximately 2:30 PM while docked at North Harbour Road in Stockholm. The fire originated from combustible waste materials onboard, which ignited due to proximity to a hot exhaust pipe located at the ship's aft quarter. Firefighters managed to suppress the flames by 3:30 PM. Emergency responders attended to several individuals suffering from smoke inhalation, but fortunately, none required hospitalization. The Emsrunner, which had just arrived from Salacgriva earlier that day at noon, was relocated to the Container Terminal in Stockholm's Freeport on December 5 following the incident.
