Federal Rideau Experiences Disabling Incident Near La Romaine
On October 26, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Federal Rideau' encountered a disabling situation approximately 20 miles south of La Romaine, Quebec. The vessel, which embarked from Montreal on October 24, was en route to Lisbon when the incident occurred. Fortunately, the crew quickly initiated repairs on the ship, allowing it to resume its journey seamlessly. As it stands, the 'Federal Rideau' is expected to arrive in Lisbon by November 3.
Federal Rideau Collides with Ship Arrester in Welland Canal Incident
On July 22, 2018, a mechanical failure led to a significant incident involving the vessel 'Federal Rideau' as it approached Lock 5 East in the Welland Canal. The ship was unable to decelerate in time due to an engine issue, resulting in a collision with the ship arrester designed to secure vessels during their transit.
