On December 16, 2010, at approximately 3 p.m., the tanker m/v Kystbunker encountered significant engine issues while navigating through Harøyfjorden in Møre, Romsdal. Originating from Bodoe, the vessel was within 30 minutes of potentially running aground south of Aukra when the crew sought assistance from the rescue boat Emmy Dyvi via Flora Radio. The malfunction was traced to low pressure in the oil pipe system; however, the vessel's captain assured that the engine could be restarted as necessary or that the ship, measuring 35 meters in length, could be safely anchored. The Emmy Dyvi quickly responded and took the Kystbunker in tow to ensure its safety. This incident marks another operational challenge for the Kystbunker, which previously experienced similar machine failure in March 2009, also requiring the help of the rescue vessel Det Norske Veritas.
