In a notable maritime incident, the bulk carrier 'Lady I' collided with a 15-ton sailing yacht in the East China Sea, just northwest of Jeju's northeastern tip, on September 17, 2020, at 03:10 a.m. The vessel was making its journey from Tianjin to Vancouver when the unfortunate event occurred. In a notable incident on March 17, 2020, the bulk carrier 'Lady I' ran aground on the Paraná River, just upstream from the San Lorenzo port. This event occurred around midnight shortly after the vessel had unmoored and was making its way downstream while transporting a cargo of maize. Immediate assistance was provided by the tug 'Brutus' (MMSI: 701006670), which was dispatched to the site of the grounding. Fortunately, the grounding did not disrupt river traffic, as the vessel remained immobilized at position 32° 38.72' S 060° 44.21' W. On March 18, the tug 'Tumbador I' (MMSI: 701006569) joined the efforts to free the aground vessel. By March 19, the 'Coopor Esptibador I' (IMO: 9769362) had also arrived to assist alongside the 'Brutus'. After a coordinated effort, the 'Lady I' was successfully refloated and anchored at 3:15 a.m. on March 24 at position 38° 41.12' N 058° 37.59' W, off the coast of Necochea, which is its intended port of destination.
