Livestock Carrier Lady Azza Incurred Damage Due to Anchor Mishap
On the morning of October 15, 2012, the livestock carrier Lady Azza experienced a mishap while attempting to dock at Heraklion port. As the vessel approached the dock, its portside anchor was inadvertently lowered to water level, leading to an unfortunate encounter with the pier. The collision resulted in damage to both the pier and the portside bow of the vessel. Notably, a hole measuring one meter was found in the hull of the Lady Azza, situated just above the waterline.
