On the morning of November 12, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Split' faced a challenging situation while anchored in the outer area of Shanghai's Yangtze Estuary. The vessel, which was carrying a substantial cargo of 41,000 tons of steel, had been stationed at its mooring since November 2. However, during the early hours, 'Split' was reported to have dragged its anchor and requested immediate assistance.
