The 'Anna', a vessel scheduled to depart from Port Mathurin for Port-Louis last weekend, remains immobilized at the Rodrigues dock due to engine issues. The ship had originally docked on August 25, 2017, to transport a shipment of 80 cattle ordered by the Mauritius Meat Authority. These cattle, already housed in the local pen, were meant to be transported to St. Gabriel in time for the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha festival on September 2. Unfortunately, the breakdown has delayed their arrival in Mauritius until next week. In response to the situation, a German technician was dispatched to the island at the beginning of the week to conduct the necessary repairs on the engine. While waiting for repairs, the 'Anna' was towed to Port Louis by the Malta-flagged tug 'Ioian Sea Fos' (IMO: 8110796), with an estimated arrival on September 8.
