On March 6, 2023, the ro-ro vessel 'Lider Haluk' faced yet another detention, this time while docked in Tuapse, with authorities uncovering a staggering 26 deficiencies. Key issues highlighted during the inspection included serious violations related to pollution prevention and safety regulations. Among the findings were critical shortcomings in the ship's Ballast Water Management System and an inoperative Ballast Water Management Plan, both essential for controlling pollution. The crew was also found lacking training in pollution prevention measures, with improper garbage handling on board further contributing to the violations. Safety concerns were prominent as well. Several navigation-related deficiencies were noted, including expired charts and inoperative tracking systems, which could significantly compromise maritime safety. Furthermore, the fixed fire extinguishing installation was reported as non-functional, exacerbating fire safety risks aboard the vessel. In non-regulatory matters, issues related to living and working conditions aboard the ship, as well as inadequacies in cargo operations, were also detected. After the detention in Tuapse, the 'Lider Haluk' was released on March 16 and subsequently moved to Unye Anchorage. This detention follows a previous incident on January 23 in Chioggia, where the vessel was held for ten days due to 14 deficiencies, which led to a refusal of access to ports under the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The continued noncompliance poses serious concerns for the ship's future operations within European waters.

On January 23, 2025, the ferry vessel 'Lider Haluk' faced a significant setback when it was detained in the port of Chioggia during a rigorous port state inspection, uncovering 14 deficiencies. Notably, seven of these deficiencies were deemed critical enough to warrant the detention of the vessel. The serious violations included inadequate fire safety measures such as malfunctioning fire fighting equipment, improperly sealed fire doors, and deficiencies in fire detection systems. Additionally, escape routes were deemed unsafe, and other crucial safety protocols, including navigation chart updates and compliance with the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, were found lacking. Following its detention, the 'Lider Haluk' was released on February 1, 2025, but it has remained idle in Chioggia since then. As of February 4, the vessel's situation remains unchanged. Compounding its troubles, the inspection results led to a temporary ban from entering ports associated with the Paris Memorandum of Understanding (Paris-MOU) for a duration of three months. This marks the third detention for the ferry, with the previous incident occurring on July 5, 2024, where it faced 22 deficiencies and was held for a period of 12 days, also in Chioggia.
