On February 12, 2015, at 10:00 AM, the CROSS Corsen received a critical alert from the Maritime Medical Consultation Center (MMCC) in Toulouse concerning a Romanian passenger aboard the ferry 'Etretat.' The vessel, located approximately 20 nautical miles north of Île de Batz and en route to Portsmouth, reported that a man in his forties was experiencing severe chest pain. Recognizing the urgency, the CROSS Corsen swiftly recommended an immediate medical evacuation. A Navy Cayman helicopter was soon dispatched, taking off from the naval airbase at Lanvéoc-Poulmic at 10:26 AM, equipped with a medical team ready to assist. By 10:45 AM, the helicopter reached the ferry, and the medical team was promptly hoisted aboard. The patient was successfully lifted from the ferry by 11:30 AM and subsequently transported to the Cavale Blanche hospital in Brest, where he arrived by noon for further medical treatment.
