On December 28, 2019, at approximately 09:45 a.m., the LNG Lokoja was involved in a daring confrontation with pirates while navigating the Gulf of Guinea, about 70 miles northwest of Sao Tome. The tanker, bound for Bonny, successfully evaded the attack due to its quick evasive maneuvers. Following the incident, the Nigerian patrol vessel, Defender 6, responded promptly to the situation and provided escort to the LNG Lokoja as it continued its journey towards Bonny.

On January 19, 2014, Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) reached a remarkable milestone by delivering its 3000th Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) cargo to Botas Petroleum Pipeline Corporation at the Marmara LNG Terminal in Turkey.
