On the evening of May 31, 2013, a daring rescue took place in the vast waters 1900 kilometers west of Cocos Island, situated between Australia and Africa. The 'LNG Sokoto', a tanker en route from Japan to Nigeria, came to the aid of solo rower Ralph Tuijn, who found himself in dire straits after his vessel, the 'Me Inc', capsized.
