On February 17, 2016, the ferry 'Lysefjord' experienced an unexpected grounding incident on the western side of Brimse while attempting to reverse into the dock. A sudden gust of wind caused the vessel to become stuck, prompting immediate action from local authorities. The JRCC Southern Norway received a distress notification at 10:18 a.m., leading to the deployment of the 'Vektaren' and emergency response teams, which included an ambulance and a Sea King rescue helicopter. At the time of the incident, the 'Lysefjord' was carrying a crew of four in addition to two passengers. Responding to the situation, the lifeboat 'Emmy Dyvi,' patrol boat 'Bergen,' and a fire boat also made their way to Rennesøy around 11 a.m. Fortunately, by 11:30 a.m., the 'Lysefjord' was successfully refloated and towed to Stavanger for safety inspections and assessments.
