In the early hours of January 2, 2021, the cargo vessel 'Madison Eagle' experienced a mechanical failure while sailing from Iskenderun to Tuzla. The incident prompted the vessel to anchor off the coast of Saraylar, located in the Marmara Sea. Despite the crew's efforts to resolve the issue, repairs were unsuccessful, leading to the involvement of Coastal Safety. The tugboat 'Kurtarma 3' was dispatched to provide assistance, successfully towing the distressed ship to Tuzla on January 3 at approximately 9:30 PM. The lifeboat 'Kiyem-4' also participated in the operation. Ultimately, the 'Madison Eagle' was safely docked at Tuzla port on January 4 at 2:40 PM UTC, marking the end of a challenging situation at sea.
