The tragic loss of crew member José Luis Álvarez onboard the fishing vessel 'Madrus' has resulted in delays regarding the repatriation of his remains. According to the fishing company, bad weather has hindered the transfer, pushing the timeline to December 10, 2018. José Luis, aged 45, suffered a fatal incident on November 28, during operations in the waters of Terranova, when he was struck by one of the trawl doors located at the back of the ship. The owners of 'Madrus', operated by Largispot and MFV Lootus, informed the family on November 29 that they intended to move his body to another vessel, the 'Santa Cristina,' which is set to dock at Aveiro later this week. In light of this tragic event, the family is seeking an autopsy to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the sailor's untimely death.
