Barley Cargo Vessel Grounds in Volga-Caspian Sea Navigation Canal
On the morning of October 28, 2022, the cargo ship 'Omskiy - 177,' transporting barley, ran aground in position 45 49 53 N, 047 33 01 E, along the Volga-Caspian Sea Navigation Canal, specifically at kilometer mark 60.2 in the Astrakhan region. Fortunately, the incident did not result in any water ingress or pollution, and ship traffic within the canal remained unaffected. To assist with the refloating of the grounded vessel, Russian tugs 'Ural' and 'OT-2080' have been dispatched to the scene.
