The vessel began to take on water approximately eleven miles off the north Kent coastline, triggering a Mayday call shortly after 8 a.m. The yacht, en route from Burnham-on-Crouch to Dover, encountered trouble near the Fisherman’s Gat channel. Coastguards from Dover and Walton-on-Naze swiftly responded to the urgent call.
