On May 20, 2013, the cargo vessel 'Adrana' encountered a mishap while navigating into Bremerhaven, having departed from Ceuta. During the entry, the vessel struck the north jetty due to an incorrect assessment of the currents by the pilot and ship's master. Emergency measures were swiftly implemented as two tugboats were dispatched to assist in securing the vessel, successfully docking it around 2 p.m. Although the bow of the 'Adrana' sustained minor damage, the impact caused significant harm to the stone jetty, highlighting the challenges of port navigation.
