On October 3, 2020, the freighter 'New Leo', which was traveling from Novorossiysk to Tekirdag, succumbed to a mechanical failure and began drifting in the tumultuous waters of the Bosphorus Strait. The vessel had just navigated into the strait from the Black Sea when it became disabled near Paşabahçe. Promptly responding to the situation, the ship's captain dropped anchor in front of Beykoz to prevent any further incident. To ensure the safety of all involved, the tugboat 'Kurtarma 11' and the lifeboat 'Kıyı Emniyeti 9' were dispatched to provide assistance.
