Working Conditions Aboard the Mer-Provider

In a strategic move to enhance its operational capabilities, Palermo's Adormare has officially added an anchor handling tug supply vessel to its fleet. The acquisition, involving the vessel now known as Mer Provider, was confirmed by Francesco Adorno, Adormare's head. He revealed that the AHTS has been purchased by a Maltese company and will be chartered to Adormare for important work at the Port of Termini Imerese, near Palermo. This particular vessel will play a vital role in towing a 10,000 dwt barge that is set to transport stones from Trapani. The Mer Provider, previously known as Mermaid Provider, was originally constructed in 1999 and boasts a gross tonnage of 804 tons. While the exact financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, industry brokers suggest the sale price exceeded $1 million. This addition marks a significant step for Adormare as it seeks to bolster its fleet and expand its operations in the Mediterranean.
