The Mignon: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On May 17, 2018, at 6:50 AM, the vessel 'Mignon' docked at the Ostrow Shiprepair yard in Gdansk for essential repairs. The ship encountered a significant fire on its car deck at the end of April while navigating near Singapore. After successfully completing its journey through Izmit, Zeebrugge, Amsterdam, and Bremerhaven, the 'Mignon' arrived at the repair yard on May 16. Following the extensive repair work, the ship set sail once more on June 19 at 7:20 AM, with Bremerhaven designated as her first port of call, expected to arrive on June 21 at 4:00 AM.

On July 24, a dramatic medevac operation unfolded involving a crewmember aboard the vessel 'Mignon', who sustained 2nd degree burns while navigating the waters between the Netherlands and Sweden. The KNRM rescue boat 'Jeanine Parqui', based in Hoek van Holland, was dispatched at 6:20 PM to reach the distressed ship, positioned 17 nautical miles north of the port. At the time, winds gusted at 6-7 Beaufort, and the sea was rough with waves measuring between 1-2 meters. By 7:50 PM, the 'Jeanine Parqui' successfully positioned itself alongside the 'Mignon' at coordinates 51°53.60 N 003°20.30 E. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the rescue team effectively lowered the injured crewmember aboard their vessel, where immediate medical treatment was administered. Finally, at 8:30 PM, the 'Jeanine Parqui' arrived back at Berghaven, where an ambulance was on standby to transport the patient for further medical care.
