Tragic Incident Claims Life of Port Worker in Bremerhaven
A tragic accident occurred on June 25, 2022, at 9:30 a.m. in Bremerhaven, taking the life of a dedicated port worker aboard the cargo vessel 'ML Freyja' (IMO: 9228173) while it was being loaded at the East Port. The 30-year-old man suffered fatal injuries after getting caught between a moving excavator and other cargo. Emergency medical personnel attended to him on-site, and he was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, he sadly passed away from his injuries on June 26. Authorities from the water police in Bremen have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding this devastating incident. Following the accident, 'ML Freyja' departed Bremerhaven later that day at 8:30 p.m., continuing its journey to Harwich.
Incident Involving ML Freyja and Stena Foreteller in Cuxhaven
During the early hours of April 10, 2019, the cargo vessel ML Freyja struck the moored Danish ferry Stena Foreteller (IMO: 9214666) while departing from Cuxhaven, causing damage to fender plates. Subsequently, the bridge dock collided with the gantry crane at the Cuxport Terminal. Investigations were conducted, and following the completion of necessary surveys, the ML Freyja was cleared to depart, leaving the port at 6:30 a.m. on April 11 with its next destination set for Paldiski, expected to arrive on April 14. Meanwhile, the Stena Foreteller had already made its exit from Cuxhaven at 3:30 a.m., heading towards Immingham with an estimated arrival time of 8 p.m.

The ML FREYJA, a vessel constructed by Visentini and owned by Visemar, is poised to return to her long-term charterers, Mann Lines, on December 27. Since her delivery in June, the ship has been subchartered to SOL, but it will soon resume its dedicated service for Mann Lines.
