The vessel 'Mody M' faced a detention in Alexandria on June 19, 2025, due to a total of 26 documented deficiencies. Among these, five were classified as critical, warranting the vessel's detention. The serious issues identified included: 1) Absence of a valid medical certificate 2) Missing essential certificates required for operation 3) Non-compliance of the propulsion main engine 4) Inadequate auxiliary machinery 5) Malfunctioning emergency steering position and compass reading. Fortunately, after addressing these deficiencies, 'Mody M' was released from detention on June 23, 2025. This situation serves as a reminder of the ongoing importance of maintaining maritime safety standards.

On June 2, 2019, the bulk carrier 'Mody M.' was detained at the Industrial Port Chemical Terminal in Trieste after arriving from Mersin, scheduled to unload approximately 6,000 tons of cement. A Port State Control (PSC) inspection uncovered alarming deficiencies, including severe hygiene issues, inadequate maintenance practices, and exploitation of the vessel's crew. Reports indicated that a skeleton crew was forced to endure excessive working hours under deplorable conditions. Both crew and cargo areas were dirty, infested with insects among other issues, leading inspectors to identify a staggering 22 violations. Consequently, a penalty has been issued against the ship's master and its owners. The Mody M. will remain confined to port until all safety and operational standards are thoroughly addressed and rectified.

In a strategic move to optimize its operations, Wilson has successfully sold the vessel 'Wilson Rouen', which has been moored in Ceuta since June 29, 2016. The ship was purchased by a company registered in the Marshall Islands for $450,000, a figure slightly lower than its book value. Proceeds from this sale will be allocated towards settling debts associated with the vessel. Following this transaction, Wilson's operational fleet will consist of 116 ships, with 79 being directly owned by the company. This change comes on the heels of the departure of 'Wilson Fjord', which exited the fleet with financial losses. In contrast, Wilson benefitted from tax gains related to the sales of 'Wilson Marin' and 'Wilson Bar'. Notably, the company had commenced its selling strategy back in 2016 with the disposal of 'Wilson Malo'. As Wilson continues to adjust its fleet, these sales exemplify the company's commitment to financial stability and operational efficiency.
