Cepsa has taken a groundbreaking step in marine fuel supply by equipping its barges in the Strait of Gibraltar with a state-of-the-art measurement system utilizing the Coriolis effect. This innovative technology allows for the precise determination of fuel delivery by measuring mass instead of relying on traditional volume metrics adjusted for temperature and density. By eliminating variables such as air in the flow, Cepsa ensures more accurate fuel transactions, enhancing reliability for its customers. The implementation of this advanced system has already been certified on two of its barges, with plans to extend the technology across its entire fleet operating in the Bay of Gibraltar in the coming months.
