The Msm-Don: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On February 29, 2020, the cargo vessel 'MSM Don', carrying 11 crew members, encountered an oil leak in its engine room while traveling from Calais to Las Palmas. The incident prompted the ship to anchor for repairs at the coordinates 50°53'48" N, 001°20'46" E. The repair process took approximately six to seven hours. During this time, the vessel began to drift toward the French Search and Rescue (SAR) zone, leading to intervention by CROSS Griz-Nez for safety oversight. At the time of the leak, the 'MSM Don' was transporting a substantial load of 1,751.26 tonnes of fiber optic cables. Once repairs were successfully completed, the ship was able to continue its journey without further incident.

On October 18, 2018, at 07:50 a.m., the cargo vessel MSM Don encountered fuel filter issues while navigating 25 miles off the Isle of Wight, precisely at coordinates 50 22 36 N, 000 45 06 W. The vessel was en route from Rotterdam to Haifa with a crew of 11 members on board. Fortunately, there were no reports of pollution, and no external assistance was requested. By 12:31 a.m. the following day, MSM Don confirmed that its main engine was operational again, indicating that the fuel filter problem had been successfully resolved. Additionally, the vessel's AIS system was updated, and it resumed its journey.
