On August 27, 2021, the cargo vessel 'Efekan 1' faced an unfortunate engine failure while navigating the Bosphorus Strait on its route from Kocaeli to Constanta. The incident occurred early in the day at the separation buoy TAD. In response, Turkey's Coastal Safety agency swiftly dispatched the tug 'Kurtarma 12' to provide assistance.
