A fire incident took place on March 10, 2020, around 10:40 a.m. on the vessel 'Yas' while it was docked at the renowned Blohm and Voss shipyard, specifically in dock 16, located in Hamburg. The local fire department responded promptly, deploying a significant team along with the newly introduced fire boat, 'Branddirektor Westphal.' Approximately 60 emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene. Thanks to the efficient efforts of the shipyard's own fire brigade, the blaze was brought under control before external help arrived. The origin of the fire was traced back to welding operations, which had ignited around 150 meters of wiring harnesses in the bow section of the vessel. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries from this incident. The 'Yas' had been at the shipyard since December 23, 2019, undergoing extensive overhaul works.
