Bulk Carrier 'Cyclene' Quarantined in Paranagu due to COVID-19 Case

In a recent development, the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) confirmed that a crew member aboard the bulk carrier 'Cyclene' tested positive for COVID-19 while docked at port in Paranagu. Immediate healthcare measures were taken, and the affected crew member was promptly hospitalized. As a precautionary step, the 'Cyclene' was re-anchored on May 26, 2020, pending further test results. The vessel had arrived in Paranagu on May 25 after its journey from Singapore, where it was scheduled to pick up a load of soybeans. Consequently, the bulk carrier remains under quarantine until it is deemed safe for the crew and surrounding area.
