On December 6, 2019, the container ship 'Navios Centaurus' encountered significant issues while navigating the Gulf of St. Lawrence, approximately 80 miles east of Gaspe, Quebec. The vessel found itself disabled and adrift at coordinates 48° 37.41' N, 062° 28.375' W after a defective cooling system led to a complete loss of propulsion.
