Ncc-Nasma Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

In a significant milestone, the Port of Salalah in Oman successfully executed its inaugural ship-to-ship transfer operation (STST) at Salalah anchorage in 2018. This operation, conducted by Fendercare Marine, involved the transfer of vegetable oil between two vessels, NCC Nasma and Ariana, while they were safely anchored within the harbor. Port of Salalah CEO, Andrew Dawes, highlighted the strategic importance of this new service, stating, "Our ship-to-ship transfer offering for bulk liquids is tailored to meet the growing economic needs of the regional market and Africa."

On September 8, 2023, the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA) celebrated the arrival of its latest chemical tanker, NCC 'Nasma', delivered by SHINAsb, formerly known as SLS, from South Korea. This impressive vessel, which boasts a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 45,000, is part of a substantial order consisting of nine vessels that NCC contracted with the shipyard between 2006 and 2007, totaling around SAR1.721 billion (approximately US$460 million). In addition to the NCC 'Nasma', NCC has six more vessels currently under construction at SHINAsb, valued at SAR1.159 million (about US$310 million), with projected deliveries slated for 2011-2012. Furthermore, NCC is planning to add a significant 75,000 DWT chemical tanker under construction by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering in South Korea, with an anticipated cost of SAR247 million (around US$66 million) and a delivery date set for 2013.
