National Chemical Carriers Ltd. Co. (NCC), a prominent player in the maritime sector of Saudi Arabia and primarily owned by The National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (BAHRI) with an 80% stake, has officially added the chemical tanker 'NCC REEM' to its fleet. This delivery, hailed as a significant advancement, comes from SHINAsb of South Korea and is part of a larger order comprising nine vessels placed in 2006. The 'NCC REEM' boasts a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of 45,000 tonnes and is distinguished by its rigorous Designated Navigation Vessels (DNV) classification, along with full IMO 2 notations. With an impressive cargo capacity of 53,200 cubic meters, the ship features 22 Zink/Epoxy coated cargo tanks, ensuring a high level of operational safety through a design that allows for 20 full segregations. In terms of commercial operations, the vessel will be managed by NCC ODFJELL Chemical Tankers JLT, which is based in Dubai. This joint venture, formed between NCC and ODFJELL SE from Norway, has been operating since January 2010 and aims to enhance the efficiency and safety of chemical transportation within the maritime industry.
