National Chemical Carriers (NCC), a subsidiary of the National Shipping Company of Saudi Arabia (NSCSA), proudly announced the delivery of its latest chemical tanker, NCC Safa, from the South Korean shipbuilder SHINAsb. This acquisition is part of a larger fleet expansion plan, which saw NCC place an order for nine vessels back in 2006/2007, amounting to an investment of approximately SAR 1.72 million. NCC Safa boasts impressive specifications, certified by DNV with full IMO 2 notations, and has a deadweight tonnage of 45,000 dwt. The tanker is designed to carry up to 53,200m3 of liquid cargo in 22 zinc/epoxy coated tanks, featuring 20 full segregations for optimal safety and efficiency. Moving forward, NCC Safa will be operated commercially through a Dubai-based joint venture, a collaboration between NCC and its strategic partner Odfjell from Norway.
