In a heartbreaking turn of events, the container ship 'Ever Lifting' experienced a crew member going overboard while navigating approximately 12 nautical miles south of Pirapolis, east of Montevideo. The incident triggered an urgent Search and Rescue (SAR) operation, which included the deployment of helicopters and boats from nearby ports, along with assistance from the Navy minesweeper 'Temerario'. Unfortunately, despite extensive efforts, the missing crew member was not located. The 'Ever Lifting' continued its journey and later docked at the container terminal in Montevideo on the evening of August 29.

Neptune Dry Management, led by Melina Travlos, has strategically enhanced its dry bulk fleet by securing a second ultramax vessel from Japan's KN Maritime. According to shipbroking sources, the company has invested approximately $23 million in the 2016-built ultramax known as Loch Ness. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Neptune Dry as they continue to strengthen their presence in the dry bulk sector.
