Boskalis' Ndeavor and Ndurance Secure Top Honors at IHS DPC Innovation Awards

Nov 14, 2016 09:00

Boskalis' versatile vessels, Ndeavor and Ndurance, clinched the prestigious Innovation Award in the 'Dredging Support Vessel' category on Thursday, November 10, during the IHS DPC Innovation Awards held in London. The award jury recognized the vessels for their groundbreaking design and diverse functionalities. These innovative ships are engineered to handle a variety of operations, including dredging, transportation, precise rock installation, solid ballasting of offshore platforms, and the deployment of offshore structures. Notably, they can also be converted into fully operational cable-laying vessels. The Ndurance is particularly remarkable, as it can be equipped with the Trenchformer, an unmanned vehicle designed to excavate trenches up to three meters deep in the seabed while laying cables. Meanwhile, the newly introduced 'jet trencher' on the Ndeavor is capable of burying existing cables at even greater depths. Both vessels have been serving the industry since their launch in 2015 and boast a stellar performance history.

Keppel Shipyard Celebrates Dual Naming Ceremony for NDURANCE and NDEAVOR Vessels

Jan 17, 2014 10:31

On January 15, Keppel Shipyard in Singapore witnessed a spectacular double naming ceremony hosted by Royal Dutch Boskalis, unveiling two innovative multifunctional vessels: NDURANCE and NDEAVOR. Each vessel measures 99 meters in length and 30 meters in width, crafted by collaboration between top-tier manufacturers, including Samsung C&T Corporation and Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. These state-of-the-art vessels are specifically designed for multi-functional capabilities and are currently outfitted with specialized equipment tailored for diverse marine projects. The NDEAVOR has been equipped with advanced portable rock and stone dumping technology along with a sophisticated dredging system. This preparation is crucial for the Malampaya Phase 3 Project, which serves Shell in the Philippines, focusing on dredging and subsea rock installation tasks. Following its work in the Philippines, the NDEAVOR will transition to the Ichthys Project in Australia, where it will undertake subsea rock installation in the Port of Darwin for Saipem/INPEX. This event marks a pivotal moment in maritime engineering and showcases the commitment of Royal Dutch Boskalis to advancing marine infrastructure solutions.
