Goldenport Holdings Offloads Bulk Carrier Alpine Trader for $9.3 Million
In a strategic financial move, London-listed Goldenport Holdings has finalized the sale of its bulk carrier, the Alpine Trader, built in 2009, to Zenith Shipping, a company based in the Marshall Islands. The transaction, valued at $9.345 million, saw the vessel officially transferred to its new owners on November 5. According to a statement from Goldenport, the proceeds from this sale will be allocated toward settling debt that has been secured against the ship. Following this latest transaction, Goldenport's fleet now includes seven dry bulk vessels, specifically comprising six supramax and one post-panamax, in addition to a total of five containerships with capacities ranging from 970 to 5,551 TEU. Earlier in June, Goldenport had revealed it was the target of an acquisition by an undisclosed buyer; however, negotiations between the interested party and the company’s independent directors did not culminate in an agreement.
