What Crew Members Say About No.1eunhee

On January 27, 2020, the oil tanker 'No.1 Eunhee' (IMO: 2458 gt, built in 2007) encountered significant engine difficulties while making its way from Ulsan to Busan, carrying a cargo of 4,200 tons of bunker-C fuel. At 08:20 a.m., the vessel dropped anchor approximately two nautical miles off the coast of Busan. Unfortunately, instead of stabilizing, 'No.1 Eunhee' began to drag its anchor due to its engine failure. In response to the emergency, the crew promptly contacted the Busan Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) and the Korean Coast Guard, requesting immediate assistance. A tugboat, designated '601 Baekryong,' was dispatched from Busan to aid in the situation. The tug successfully attached to 'No.1 Eunhee' and by 5 p.m., the vessel was safely towed back into port. Following the incident, 'No.1 Eunhee' departed the anchorage under tow on January 28 at 07:30 a.m. The tanker finally made its arrival in Busan at 12:40 a.m. later that same day, ensuring the crew and cargo were secured after the mechanical mishap.
