On May 9, 2012, a Bond-type EC-225 Super Puma helicopter experienced an emergency situation while traveling from Aberdeen to the Maersk Resilient rig and the ENSCO 102 platform. The incident occurred approximately 45 kilometers east of Aberdeen at around 1:15 p.m. Remarkably, all 14 individuals aboard managed to evacuate the aircraft and utilize a life raft for safety. Following the accident, they were promptly rescued and transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, arriving around 2:45 p.m. for medical observation. Although the exact cause of the helicopter's mishap remains unconfirmed, the rescue efforts were effectively coordinated by the Aberdeen Coastguard.
