In a distressing incident, two crew members from the bulk carrier 'Baltic Sea' were swiftly medevaced to Crève-Cœur hospital in Rodrigues on June 15, 2018. This emergency response came after the vessel had been anchored near Port Mathurin since June 13, when one crew member tragically passed away on board. The deceased's body was officially transferred to local authorities in Rodrigues, yet an autopsy has yet to be conducted. Consequently, the 'Baltic Sea' remains unable to continue its voyage until the necessary procedures are completed.
